YES - WE ARE STILL OPERATING….
With so much changing so rapidly we will ensure professionalism and stringent protocols as we keep ahead of changes to our operation due to the demands of the COVID-19 spread.
In light of measures announced by the Federal Government yesterday and the NSW Government this morning, ADA NSW is now recommending that dentists minimise the provision of routine, and non-urgent, dental treatment until 30 April 2020. Urgent and emergency dental treatment will still be provided. ADA NSW will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and provide regular updates and advice about whether normal treatment can resume, or further restrictions might apply.
Rest assured that, where possible, all emergency and urgent dental treatment will continue, to ensure that our patients receive the care that they require and to minimise the possible burden on an already stretched health system. This include management of conditions that are likely to require emergency care if left untreated. Reducing patient treatment also acts as a social distancing measure to further minimise the spread of COVID-19. There is also an important requirement to manage supplies of PPE in an environment where these are scarce, and where they will be required in hospitals and other healthcare facilities to manage COVID-19 patients.
You can help us by:
notifying us by phone, prior to coming in, if are experiencing flu-like symptoms, or have been recently overseas or in contact with anyone who might have tested positive or otherwise been exposed to the COVID-19 virus
maintain a minimum of 1.5m distance from staff or others in the waiting room
wash your hands regularly, and use the hand sanitiser available in our office once you arrive.
avoid coughing or sneezing in the open (use a tissue, or into your elbow, and turn away from others)
We thank you for your support in all this, and will keep you updated as changes are made known to us.
